progdolphin Yantra Creating will jostle your sense of equilibrium till you too spin as one with the universe that surrounds. Don't strap in, just let go. Favorite track: Fire and Places for His Work.
vacant planet

vacant planet one of the best death metal albums of the year (arguably in the top spot so far tbh). this has all the lurching BDM riffs and organ rupturing SLAMS you could want, but there's also a lot of bold risk taking as well. truly impressive stuff here
Dan Curhan
Dan Curhan thumbnail
Dan Curhan Well this fucks. Hard. It's psychedelic and chunky brutal death metal that doesn't hesitate to leave the genrebox and experiment. It's heavy and brutal with plenty of breeeee, but it's also thoughtful and nuanced and progressive, with lots of surprising layers and inclusions. There's an Indian influence sprinkled throughout. Super fucking cool. I'm impressed.

DOOM 7 H. Target is awesome and along with Droid Killer, true pioneers of the human/machine landscape. Which much like Nuclear War Metal is some of the best Metal. This album sounds KILLER, better than all the previous albums, the drums are SLAMMING super tight. Favorite track: Creating Gods Arms.

Aghori 03:52
He delivers awe He dissolves in fear He swims in the river of terror. Ashes bestow new life Kapala… In the laughter of the rain In the dancing lines of life He sees death. In the laughter of the rain In the dancing lines of life Death is here. Destruction is the blessing of life He feels your strength, human As he holds your truth in his palms It is no mere chance you met amidst the crackling of Varanasi You were brought here by death You met in the vast graveyard of Sansara You were brought here by death On the other side He rushes reverently around Around the fire It's the earth that refreshes Refreshes the spirit This is a sacred dance The energy of fire He'll stop and keep quiet This is a sacred silence. He hears your last breath, He pays respects to you. You don't know each other, But you've brought him closer to fearlessness He delivers awe He dissolves in fear He swims in the river of terror. He delivers awe He dissolves in fear Destruction is the blessing of life

Askeza 06:41
Immersed in his reverie, he was sitting before his father, and so many years Years passed. After a long time his body withered from the wind and the sun, and fell down like a tree Tree cut down At the root. But the restless mind, in search for pleasures, pictured beautiful countries, and wandered across Across them, like a deer passing …. from one forest to another. His mind, lost in desires, wandered through various lives, ascending to heaven and descending to earth, restless as if it’s tied to a spinning wheel, until settled on the Samanga river side. He being without a body, experienced the endless variety of lives and the events within them as real and the events within them as real. Body remained in the Mandara mountains, winds dried it up and it became skin-tight bones. The wind whistled, blowing through the body holes, like cheerful notes of joy of deliverance from sorrow. The miserable suffering mind fell into the deep pit of creation, and a string of cloud-white teeth seemed to laugh at it. The body's empty eye sockets reminded how void they are, the once beautiful mouth that had fallen in resembled an old overgrown well in the woods. It seemed like tears at the memories of past joys soaked it Like a dry branch, the body swayed creakily, as if the epitome of heavy ascesis among the blowing winds. In the hole of the heat-dried body - bird nested, and among the dried up viscera - frog rested. Worms swarmed in the empty eye sockets, and the chest of ribs was braided with cobwebs. The skull rose above the rest of the skeleton on the bones of the spine, as if the dead body was stretching its neck. The reclined face on the long neck seemed to be staring after its soul flying into the sky. The long thin bones extend even further in immobility, apprehending the burdens of the long journey.

Brahmastra 05:01
Flaming… Arrow… Grasped… Flaming arrow was grasped. Then valiant Rama, Whom Matali has reminded of this, Grasped the flaming arrow Which Brahma gave him. Agastya, the glorious sage, Gave it to him Earlier on battlefield. Battle…field… The arrow looked like hissing serpent. It was created before by Brahma, the lord of creation of infinite power. Created for Indra, The lord of the celestials. It had been granted In the past to the to the great gods master, Who wished to conquer three worlds. Having made it sacred by means Special formula described in scriptures, Rama endowed with incredible power, Secured that arrow. The arrow was the first among the three worlds, Capable destroy the fear of the Ikshvaku dynasty, Taking away the glory of enemies He brought the joy to himself with his bow. Bow As Rama aimed this superb arrow, All creatures were startled and the earth trembled. Enraged Rama drawn bowstring well And with careful mind he threw the arrow, Capable ripping Off vital organs, Straight to Ravana. Straight to Ravana. This arrow, As lightning, Sent by the hands of Indra, And irresistible as Yama, The Lord of Death, Pierced into the chest. Fired with such power Able to destroy the body, The arrow tore out The heart of Ravana. Flaming arrow Bringer of death Fired with such power Destroyed Ravana And covered With blood, Penetrated Into the ground. Fragrance of the world… Frag- Rance Of World Fragrance of world Ego’s burning in fire of desire. Three chakras broadcast Broadcast the playful reality. Achievements go through our hands like sand. What will you find in this world? Achievements go through our hands like sand. What will you find in this…? Achievements go through our hands like sand. What will you find in this world? Achievements go through our hands like sand. What will you find? Tamas controls the mind. The hurricane crushes the mind down. Pain squeezes desires out. The search for the happiness is Eternal. Eternal! This is like Boring movie And it's playing back. This boring movie It’s playing back Over and over. And memory fades Again and again. Over and Over Memory fades again and again. Again and Over Sacks of bones They live as programmed Their vision seeks pleasure Three gunas hold tight Where are you crawling? To what you've created Your thoughts of existence Create the conditions Play, pray And get what's rightfully yours Your Beloved Suffering. It's the time and place to forge divine tools. Within yourself. Ascesis of the mind, I'm closing My eyes. This world is not mine. I sharpen my mind To cut the bonds That bind My soul. Level of my apprehension is low, Open the transcendent.

The crematorium principal, Where did I end up?! It is very honorable to live here, But more honorable to die, Came half-dead On purpose to Die! Eerie conveyor To process The dead into Smoke and ash, I've been saving Saving up Save for sandalwood All my life! All my life! All my life! The sight is freaky And shocking, Somewhat demonic, Mystifying. One may observe forever The life scenes on the ghats! Commotion's Going on! Firewood and logs for funeral pyres Are piled between the temples on the shore, People crowd in small groups and gaze in silence. Folks rustle'round the fires, drag firewood, light fires, Eviscerate the burnt remains - dread! The bodies of the dead are smeared with incense, Wrapped in a saffron shroud, Garlands of flowers Are placed on top, Hand-borrowed to the fires Already stacked is funeral pyre! Garlands of flowers Are placed on top, Hand-borrowed to the fires Already stacked is funeral pyre! A fire ritual takes place, take place tonight!!! There is no common sense in that place, only emotions, Fed up with common sense!!! Why did I run away but want to come back again?! Something happened to the mind!!! Everything burned out and need to burn the fire... Something happened to the mind!!! Everything burned out and need to burn the fire... Something happened to the mind!!! Everything burned out and need to burn the fire... Something happened to the mind!!! Everything burned out and need to burn the fire once again.

Dangling in the boiling of bustling, Bright shawls. Red lights, Screaming and madness, Blessing and disaster, Objective reality Fails! I can't see a way out struggling for survival. I want to jump off, but it is too fast, the roundabout is too tough. Im peeling off nails, Scraping with fingers Im shredding with my teeth Im grinding into the granite Looking for a way out to escape the maddening sound, Shouts and dust, commotion and the Merciless sun Sweat stings my skin, The stench is bothering, People are tearing my mind, I want to give up But it looks like the reality is broken Im walking humbly Into the darkness of my thoughts Im here alone Cant see my own… Im walking humbly Into the darkness of my thoughts Im here alone Cant see my own hand Meditation, transformation, purification Heavy into light, liquid into nothing Meditation, transformation, purification Heavy into light liquid into nothing The haze is absorbing the rot and the stench, The reek of fear is getting dissolved, The haze is absorbing the rot and the stench, The reek of fear is getting dissolved, Darkness is devouring consciousness. I cease To exist All that is left of me Is light I cease To exist All that is left of me Is light Hope gives Fresh breath. I am Saved. I am Saved. I am Saved. I am saved. I am saved.

7 H.Target is a band that breaks the standard BDM formula, creating something unique, all-out aggression combined with abstract and atmospheric forms.
The "Yantra Creating" album is a conceptually new stage in the development of the band, both musically and lyrically, performing a mixture of Brutal/Slam/Tech DM with Indian influences.

REVIEWS

"Hard. It's psychedelic and chunky brutal death, that doesn't hesitate to leave the genrebox and experiment. Squawky pinch harmonics abound, and the songs rapidly careen through a wide variety of riffs, keeping this interesting and engaging without fully devolving into shallow riff salad. I'm very into the psychedelic elements that permeate the album, from ping pong delay panning to trippy compositional choices... it's something I've not heard done like this within the brutal death metal context. It's heavy and brutal with plenty of breeeee, but it's also thoughtful and nuanced and progressive, with lots of surprising layers and inclusions. There's an Indian influence sprinkled throughout, even going so far as to include a track that's entirely traditional sounding ethnic Indian instrumentation and composition. It's not just a gimmicky static atmosphere like a lot of other bands would include, but a fully fleshed out composition with motion and dynamics. Super fucking cool. I'm really impressed."

"With Yantra Creating, 7 H.Target does more than offering us another Brutal Death Metal album. Because the band places airy elements and Indian influences between its heavy and groovy riffs, making this album a real musical UFO."

"There comes a time after listening to enough of the more extreme forms of metal that it may feel as if you have truly heard everything. Some bands stick with what is now considered a classic sound to great success (see Obituary's latest) which can be great, but the genre needs innovation too. Enter 7 H.
I'm not even sure how to accurately describe this album in a concise manner, but heavy, brutal, off-kilter, and unpredictable all come to mind. 7 slaying tracks of technical and experimental brutal death metal mixed with influences of Indian music. I could never accurately assume the direction we were headed. I can't help but feel Willowtip is the absolute best landing spot for them to rest in the history books next to label alums Defeated Sanity, Ulcerate, and Gigan.
I'm not saying traditional slam or BDM is a bad thing, as many of them make serviceable to great music. However, I am saying, until proven wrong, there is only one 7 H. This album works very well on its own merit and level without crossing into something it isn't. This is not Obscura by Gorguts, or a Portal album full of dissonance to decipher through. You wouldn't necessarily need a degree in music theory to understand the music, though it wouldn't hurt. For every Cannibal Corpse and Vader out there, plus the legions of bad imitators, there are very few bands that will attempt something new with this level of success. If we want our genre to survive and thrive in what is now its fifth decade of existence, albums like Yantra Creating deserve your full attention and support."
